My dad lent me this book by Gordon Fee a couple of weeks ago. I started reading it and enjoyed it so much that I neglected some of my original plans for starting my new Greek grammar just to finish it. It has been a really helpful overview of how to do exegesis, and a good help in providing more details to things that I could improve. In the process of reading I also discovered how much I enjoy the aspects of exegesis, and that I really don’t enjoy textual criticism all that much. I can see myself referring back to the steps illustrated in this handbook in the future. I will probably just refer to the newer third edition which I have on Logos. If you spend any time studying the Bible in depth, I highly recommend reading this book for yourself.

Nathan, I agree with the recommendation. I have to previous edition.
It, however, assumes a lot of Greek on the reader’s part.

Well, TC, Fee has sections specifically for those not yet schooled in the holy languages so that it can be accessed by as many people as possible.
It is really very useful.

As Brian points out there are specific paths within the book for those who do or do not know how to read Greek.

Brian and Nathan, forgive me, for it has been a while since I picked up my older edition.
